Wait...REALLY?!?

I've often heard that when a woman is pregnant, she "just knows". Well, even though I had some nice signs when I look back on it, I didn't know for quite a long time, actually. What I probably should have noticed the most was my extreme lack of energy. I blamed it on the days getting shorter, the temperatures getting colder, and the gradual switch from summer energy to fall/winter laziness. I had occasional moments of very slight queasiness and stomach aches, but usually after eating. Still, nothing that, to me, was really obvious.

Eventually, though, I knew it was time to buy a test. I took it in the morning before getting ready to take my shower. Even though I still wasn't totally convinced it would be positive, my hands were shaking. First, the control line appeared. Ok... I knew that if there were signs of another line appearing, the result would be pretty clear. Well, shortly afterwards, the second line started to appear - ever so slightly, from the top down. After about another minute (maybe even less), it was definitely there. Disbelief, excitement, astonishment, you name it! REALLY?!?!

Needless to say, Guenni and I are both very excited and getting over the initial surprise. What I found really astonishing is that even though we were aware of the chance of conceiving, when it actually happened, it was unbelievable and baffling.

What a miracle, indeed!
