Craziness & week 33 survey

What a week!!!
It was my last week in Bonn, and I had plenty to do.
I finished packing most of my things in the apartment and asked a few friends to help me load everything into the car on Thursday. Seven people showed up to help, which was great! Everything even fit!

(I felt like I was back in college on moving day)

With so much help, we were finished fairly quickly. I ordered pizza and we just enjoyed hanging out a while. I'm thankful that that went so smoothly.

Friday was my last day of work. I was so busy doing last-minute things that I didn't have time to feel happy or sad, though. About 30 minutes before I left, my colleagues in the group were all standing in front of my door all of a sudden. They wanted to wish me farewell. One of my colleagues gave a nice short speech and they gave us a very generous gift of money to buy something that we need. I was surprised and very touched! Luckily, I had already planned to give an "official" farewell this coming Friday (April 23rd), so I will see most of them again and will have more time to actually say goodbye to people.

Unfortunately, my weekend wasn't really filled with relaxation either. Friday night when I got home after our band rehearsal, I found our cat Sissi sitting on the door mat. As I got closer, I realized she had several nasty-looking injuries all over her nose, mouth, and head. Her entire face was swollen, and she immediately went inside and hid in her bed underneath a big carton we have in the hallway. We could tell she was in pain and she wouldn't eat or drink anything, but there was nothing we could do. We left her in peace and just hoped that she would make it through the night. Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well. I got up really early to check on her and called the vet. Luckily, I was able to take her to see them about one hour later. When the vet saw her, she immediately said that she was hit by a car. Sissi must have had a guardian angel though: No broken bones or internal injuries. She now has to take antibiotics and will get some pain medication for the next few days, but she should be back to normal soon. Needless to say, that was more excitement than I really needed on top of everything else!

We also have our yearly band concert coming up on May 1st. This weekend was our "practice weekend", which meant practice Friday night, all day Saturday, and this morning.

All of this means that I haven't gotten around to much of anything yet since coming home on Friday, and I feel like I am living in total chaos at the moment. I am REALLY hoping that I don't stress myself out too much the next fews days trying to do everything at once.

My first day of maternity leave tomorrow and I don't know where to begin with work. ;)

Anyway, all of this sounds super crazy (and it was/is), but thankfully, I am still feeling fine physically and our little wiggler also seems to be doing well. Without further ado and rambling, here is the weekly survey:

How far along: 33+2
Belly circumference I just measured 106 cm (about 41.7 inches) around the belly button
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: Nope
Sleep: Hopefully I will get more this week
Best moment in the last week: Not sure. Too much going on.
Movement: Baby was quite active today. I felt hiccups again a few times this week.
Gender: I keep lying to strangers that ask me and tell them that it's going to be surprise. I just don't think it's fair that strangers know, but family/friends don't. Although...I'm not really lying - it's a surprise for everyone but Günni, the doctor, and me. :)
Food Cravings: None
Belly Button in or out: At the beginning of the week, there were no signs of poppage. Now it kind of, sort of looks like it might want to pop within the next few days. We'll see. I've also noticed that my belly feels slightly numb right next to the right side of my belly button. My guess is that it's because everything is stretching out still and/or baby is pushing and cutting off some nerves from the inside.
What I miss: Flexibility & being able to move more freely/quickly
What I am looking forward to: First week of maternity leave!!! Hopefully I'll get in at least a little relaxation
Weekly Wisdom: If at all possible, DO NOT plan a move while you are pregnant - at least not in the third trimester. Unfortunately, I didn't really have a choice. I want time to concentrate on baby things - not packing/unpacking & organizing two households! I'll be happy when everything is settled, put away, and clean!
Milestones: It was my last week of work and last week in Bonn! Bittersweet... Baby's respiratory system is almost fully mature now. Günni put together the furniture in baby's room yesterday! I'll have to post some pics soon, but the room is currently also still filled with all of my stuff from Bonn
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: Probably several ;)
Belly-button ring Status: Out
Labor Signs: I had some serious downwards pressure last Saturday. Thankfully, it got better on Sunday and is now back to "normal". I don't know if baby was moving down/in a weird position or if I was trying to do too much, but in general, I need to force myself to slow down and take more breaks (easier said than done at the moment, though).
Weekly Belly Pic:

("Normal" view)

("Cropping" the belly)
Both from today - April 18th

Two people asked me this week if my belly has already dropped. I told them that it's always been low and not really high in the first place. As I've already mentioned in many previous posts, it also seems to be growing straight out. The second picture really puts both of these things into perspective, I think.

Ok...time for this pregnant lady to go to bed (or at least on the couch)! Yawn...
