Update & week 35

On Monday morning, I had another doctor's appointment. The normal tests were done and we were hooked to the CTG machine again. This time, baby slept almost the entire time. Nothing exciting. I did have a Braxton-Hicks contraction, which showed up nicely on the graph. They are still irregular, but occur more often now than a few weeks ago.

Surprisingly, my doctor did another ultrasound. I knew that they would do another one, but I wasn't expecting it until my next visit in 2 weeks. It wasn't as long or detailed as a normal ultrasound, but she checked everything and measured baby again. Everything looks good.

Baby didn't really want to show his/her face again. Here is what we got:

You can see baby's head/face with a little hand/arm in front of the mouth and under the nose

My doctor did seem a little perplexed when she was measuring baby because the values seemed high to her. She actually measured baby's head circumference twice. I told her that baby was already 2 weeks "ahead" last time, and instead of slowing down, baby is continuing the spurt. I was 34+3 weeks on Monday, and baby was measuring around 37 weeks! The head circumference was already 33,8 cm (13.3 inches)!!! My doctor even jokingly asked who has the big head in the family.

There was no mention of an earlier due date though. I am actually hoping for a May baby, but NOT before the middle of May. I still need a few weeks to organize & prepare everything and just have some time to relax. My next appointment is on May 10th. We'll see what they say then.

After my appointment, I planned to do some shopping. It was the first time that I really did some shopping for baby (except the furniture). I bought a mattress for the crib and cradle, sleeping bag, some clothes, some changing items, etc. There really are some very nice, cute, tiny things available. :)

Now, moving on to the weekly survey...

How far along: 35 today
Belly circumference I measured 108 cm a few days ago. I was weighed again at the doctor's office on Monday, and surprisingly, I only gained 1 kg in the last 4 weeks!
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: Nope
Sleep: Ok. I'm enjoying sleeping in. Turning over from one side to the other in bed is serious work though!
Best moment in the last week: Ultrasound Monday, Günni felt baby hiccuping, farewell in Bonn last Friday, falling into bed every night :)
Movement: Still wiggles. No painful jabs yet
Gender: You'll find out in just a few weeks!
Food Cravings: None
Belly Button in or out: Not in , not out. Mostly flat still. I feel like my belly form has changed though. The front is more flat now. Unfortunately, it's also been more itchy lately.
What I miss: Being able to move "normally"
What I am looking forward to: Finally getting everything moved out of baby's room and fixed up
Weekly Wisdom: I really need to take more time just to relax. I found it really hard to do in my chaos this week though. My head kept saying, "Keep going so that you finish soon". My body kept saying, "Slow down, I can't keep up like I used to."
Milestones: First week of official maternity leave. Only 5 more weeks to go!!!
Baby Brain Moment of the Week: None?
Belly-button ring Status: Out
Labor Signs: More Braxton-Hicks contractions
